Largest and the Smallest States in India

India is one of the world’s biggest countries, with twenty-eight states, six union territories, and one national territory. India’s entire size was 3,287,240 square kilometers. Several states in India are larger than the countries such as Oman, Uganda, Senegal, Greece, and Austria. Many North Indian states have Hindi as their official language.

Delhi is India’s capital and a union territory. Rajasthan is the largest state in terms of area, with 342,240 square kilometers, followed by Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra in order of total area. Languages, traditions, diplomacy, and culture vary per state throughout the nation. The Union’s island territories are Lakshadweep, Andaman, and Nicobar. India’s states are split into districts, each with its own set of rules and regulations.
