List of Largest Cities in Assam

Assam is one of India’s North-Eastern states, located in the southeastern Himalayas. It is the 17th largest (78,438 km2) and 15th most populous (31,169,272 estimations of 2011 census), with a population density of 390 inhabitants per km2. Guwahati is the biggest city in Assam, covering an area of 216 km2 and having a population of 962,334 (2011 estimate) with a density of 4,439 persons per km2. Dispur is the capital and a Guwahati locality with a population of 9,829.
